Horticultura Bellmunt S.L.

We are a company dedicated to the cultivation and selling of all types of plants to wholesalers, florists and specialized shops.

Founded in 1928, we have accumulated many years of experience in the horticulture sector, improving and expanding our cultivation and distribution.

The head office is situated in Lleida with production and trade centres in Cambrils (Tarragona) and Masnou-Teià (Barcelona), we can also be found at the Mercat de Flors i Planta Ornamental de Catalunya (Ornamental Plant and flower Market).

 

 

History

Founded in 1928 by the Bellmunt-Ros family who dedicated their production to fruit and vegetable plants; it was Josep Bellmunt that introduced the business to the production of ornamental household  plants and cactus leaving behind fruit and vegetables and expanding cultivation as much to exterior as interior plants, winning awards for some varieties and exhibiting in shows like Iberflora.

In 2008 after Sr. Bellmunt retired the company changed hands, and was passed  to the management personel who had been with the company for many years, following along the same line of business, which was no more than expand and improve using their accumulated experience in the horticulture sector. Expanding and improving their production, cultivation and providing better customer service.

Currently the company has 42 employees and the area for cultivation and distribution covers approximately 12 hectares between Lleida-Cambrils(Tarragona)and Masnou (Barcelona).

 

 

Location

The head office is located in Lleida (camí Montcada pda.Bovà nº 13), we have a trade and production centre in (camí vell de Cambrils a Montroig pda. Massos) Cambrils (Tarragona) and another in (camí del mig nº 147 ) Teia -Masnou (Barcelona), there are also points of sale in the Mercat de Flors i Planta Ornamental de Catalunya.

 

 

Plants

We cultivate a large variety of seasonal plants:

  • Pansys, verbena.
  • Geraniums, viola cornuta.
  • Petunias, alhelí.
  • Busy lizzy (Impatiens walleriana), cyclamen.
  • Begonias (diferents varietats).
  • Marigolds (tagete erecta y patula).

 

Aromatics:

  • Rosemary (rosmarinus oficinalis).
  • Thyme (thymus vulgaris).
  • Lavander (lavandula angustifolia).
  • Santolina (santolina chamaecyparissus-Cotton Lavander).

 

Our interior plant specialities highlight:

  • Poinsettia (euphorbia pulcherrima).
  • Devils Ivy (pothos) (epipremnum aureum).
  • Croton (codiaeum norma petra).
  • A variety of dofferent ficus.

 

Our speciality of exterior plants and shrubs are:

  • Chusan palm (Chanaerop)(trachicarpus Fortunei).
  • Magnolias.
  • Thuya esmeralda.
  • Golden spindle trees (euonimus aurea), luna, microphillium.
  • A variety of different cypresses.
  • Viburnum.
  • Cotoneaster.
  • Conifers – juniperus.
  • Beaucarneas, Ponytail Palms, Yuccas.
  • Aucubas – aralias japonica.
